Guide for Downloading and Synchronizing Apps to iPod Touch

Apart from the outstanding tools such as music and media player, the iPod Touch is hugely successful as users can access applications after downloading them from the App Store. Ranging from games to emailing to task management to video streaming services apps, users can access all sorts of apps on iPod touch. Some applications are paid, and others are available for free.

But, different from conventional programs, applications that are installed from the App Store do not run on computers, they can only run on iOS devices like iPhone, iPad, and iPod. Now, you might be wondering how to synchronize applications to your iPod touch.

Well, firstly, you need to get the application you wish to use. Just head over to the iTunes Store and find your way to the App Store. For this, open the iTunes software on the desktop and go to the Apple Store tab. After that, look for the application you need.

After locating the application, just hit the download button. You might have to pay for the application. Also, you will be required to sign in using your Apple ID.

After the application gets downloaded, it will either get listed in the iTunes library or installed on the iPod touch. You will be able to view the list of all the available applications in the iTunes library by hitting the Apps pull-down list. Or else, just click on the menu in the left pane.

Provided that the user has not altered the settings, iTunes, by default, synchronizes all the newly installed applications to the iPod touch automatically when the user synchronizes. However, if the user has modified the settings, then they will have to hit the Install button located following the application that they wish to synchronize.

If you wish to get more applications on your iPod, then synchronize it to the computer and the application will get loaded.

Applications that aren’t approved by Apple
You can only sync apps that are available in the App Store. Several iPod touch applications do not have Apple's approval. As a matter of fact, an alternative to the Apple App Store called Clydia also exists.
