Here are the steps to use Game DVR:

  • Open the Xbox app. Click on the Start menu, go to All Apps and click on Xbox. If this is the first time you are opening the app, it will require you to set up some settings.
  • Once the Xbox setup is complete, open the Game bar by using the shortcut keys (Windows key + G).
  • Check out the settings of Game bar by clicking on the Game Bar’s gear icon on the Xbox app. You can adjust the recording time, impose limits on the duration of the clips, and also feed a list of programs where you can turn on Game bar by default.
  • When you attempt to open the Game bar in any window or application, you will receive a pop-up asking you if you wish to open the Game bar, check the “Yes, this is a game” box. Check the box even if it isn’t a game since Game DVR also works on other applications.
  • Click on the circular red button to begin recording the screen. Remember that since Game DVR does not record the entire screen and instead it only records the app/window that is active, make sure that the what you wish to record is the active window.
Note: The Game DVR also does not record the mouse movements.
  • To stop the recording, once again press the shortcut to open Game bar (Win + G) and click on the Stop button.
  • The newly recorded video clip will be visible in the Xbox app. You can access it by clicking on the Xbox button located on the Game bar or by the Xbox app through the Start Menu. You will notice a series of features depicted by icons on the left-hand side of the Xbox app.
  • Click on the sixth icon (that is, a film strip in the background of an Xbox controller) to open the Game DVR menu.
  • You can see all your recorded videos here. You can even carry out basic editing such as renaming the clip, trimming it, etc.

Follow the same steps as outlined above if you wish to import an address from the Google Maps to the Apple Maps. You will find the “Share” option when you drag up the tray containing the information about the destination.

How to use FaceTime on Mac OS X

FaceTime is an application developed by Apple for iThings. It offers real-time voice over internet protocol on mobile devices and Mac. FaceTime has been specially built for Apple devices. Thus it integrates seamlessly with iPhones, iPads, Macs, etc. You can connect with people from across the world and conduct video conferences.
 If you have a Mac computer, then here are the steps for using FaceTime on Mac OS X:
  1. Open the Apple App Store.
  2. Look up FaceTime.
  3. Follow the directions given on the screen and install FaceTime.
  4. After that, go to Applications.
  5. Click on FaceTime to open it.
  6. Now, you will have to sign in with your AppleID. After signing in, your FaceTime will get activated.
  7. Enter your Apple ID and password. Click on the Sign In button.
  8. Click on the Forgot Apple ID or password link if you cannot log in.
  9. Now, from the FaceTime screen, go to Contacts. It is located at the lower righthand side of the screen.
  10. Now, just click on the name of a contact from the list.
  11. If the account you want to FaceTime with is not on the list, then click on the plus icon in the search bar and enter a name, email, or contact number.
  12. Click on the contact and the app will start connecting the call to the contact.
  13. When the contact accepts the call, the FaceTime video call shall commence.
  14. You can enlarge the screen, mute your microphone, or end the call.

Troubleshoot FaceTime

  1. Open Facetime.
  2. Now, choose Preferences.
  3. Check if the email status shown is verified or not.
  4. You have to verify the email in order to use FaceTime.
  5. When the email status shows verifying, you need to sign in to the email.
  6. Open the verification message sent by Apple and follow the process given to complete the email verification process.
  7. If your FaceTime is not working or if it is not getting activated, then just turn it off. Wait for a few seconds before turning it back on. To do so, you have to go to Preferences.

  15. After this, your Surface device will get connected to the wireless network.

Set Up Manual Wireless Network On Surface

If your wireless network is not showing up in the list of available networks, then it may be due to security reasons. Here is how you can set up a wireless network on Surface manually:
  1. Go to the home screen of the device.
  2. Now search for View network status in the search bar.
  3. Click on the Settings option.
  4. Below the results for settings, select the View network status and tasks button.
  5. Allow the Network and Sharing Center window to launch.
  6. In the Change your networking settings, click on Set up a new connection or network.
  7. In the Set Up a Connection or Network, select a connection option. Click on the third option: Manually connect to a wireless network.
  8. Now just enter the details for the wireless network you wish to add.
  9. Add network name, select security type, and encryption type, and enter the Security Key.
  10. Check the box next to Hide characters.
  11. Check the box next to Start this connection automatically and make sure to enable connection even when the network is not broadcasting.
  12. Tap on the Next button.
  13. Click on close in the following screen if it states Successfully added “connection name.”

Facebook to Personalize its Navigation Bar

According to the recent rumors, Facebook is redesigning the navigation bar on the
mobile app to prioritize the services that users are uses most commonly.

Now, the latest navigation bar extends the screen bottom on the iOS app and also
the top on Android app, formerly it showed every user in almost the same
country as the same five icons. For instances, in the US, it was the News Feed,
menu, notifications, Watch, and also the Marketplace.

With this latest update, now everyone will see the News Feed notification easily,
